Description of the work in partner programmes

Finland and Sweden

• Finnish-Swedish Wood Material Science and Engineering (2003-2006), by Tekes, Academy of Finland, Ministry of Agriculture an Forestry in Finland, Formas and VINNOVA;
  The programme was launched in 2003 and is funded jointly by Finnish and Swedish governmental organisations. The programme is a bilateral continuation of the previous Finnish Wood Wisdom programme (1998-2001). The ongoing Wood Material Science Research Programme (2003-2006) promotes the competitiveness and sustainability of forestry and forest-based industries by developing innovative, eco-efficient and cost-effective products, processes and services, and by strengthening the knowledge base through networking of the resources of the Finnish and Swedish research communities in the areas of wood material research.
  
  The programme consists of two sub-programmes, one for basic research and one for innovation-targeted research and development.
