    The focus of the program is the stimulation of sustainable forest management processes and the ecological conversion of the forests.   • Solution Oriented Concepts for Sustainability – Sustainable Forestry (2004-2008), Federal Ministry of Education and Research Germany;

    2. Multifunctional forestry
    3. Optimised forest-wood-product chain for better quality at reduced costs
    4. Modelling / up scaling
    This programme seeks the future strategic consolidation of national (German) funding-activities (sectors “Forestry” and “Wood Material Science /Timber Industry”) into one funding-activity “Sustainable Forestry” from 2004 onwards, and to ensure complementarities with international research activities (for example large-scale activities in the Framework Programmes incl. integrated projects, networks of excellence as well as ERA-Net).
